We currently spend nearly half of our waking lives using the internet. However, even though we are more connected than ever, our generation across all ages are experiencing anxiety and loneliness at epidemic rates.
Through her lens of doctoral research in psychology, award-winning technology and with over a decade of experience as a national lecturer, Dr. Julia Garcia introduces critical conversations on social health and social media. Dr. Julia’s work intersects culture, connection, social impact and the cycles that keep us from contributing to them.
AS WE look TO THE DIGITAL
LANDSCAPE TO tell OUR STORIES,
promote our ideas and grow our impact, Dr. Julia challenges us to shift from consumers of culture, both online and off, to confident contributors of it. Whether leaders are looking to establish healthy relationships, or grow in personal and community impact, Dr. Julia reveals how content is at the center of cultural change and true connection.
With her experience building award-winning technology to confront emotional health in social media, to her digital tool to address bias, as well as her work training and launching a crisis suicide hotline, there is no one who creates real spaces for students to connect in a meaningful way like Dr. Julia Garcia.
Her dynamic and engaging approach challenges our generation to not only get real but to recognize the strength in their stories. Her ability to connect with students is not only essential for all campuses, it has proven to be life-saving.
